Thailand Extends Visa-Free Stays to 60 Days for Citizens of 93 Countries: Big News for Travelers!

Exciting news for globetrotters! Thailand is expanding its visa-free travel scheme, allowing citizens from 93 countries to stay in the country for up to 60 days. The announcements are set to come into effect from July 15, 2024.


Prime Minister Srettha emphasized the seamless implementation of the scheme, ensuring visitors can enjoy their extended stays without any hitches. This proposal, brought forward by the Interior Ministry, aims to boost tourism and make Thailand an even more attractive destination.


Preparations for a Smooth Transition

The Thai government has been proactive in preparing for this expansion. Prime Minister Srettha highlighted that efficient measures are already in place, thanks to the initial implementation of visa-free travel for visitors from China, India, and Kazakhstan.


“Immigration police and security authorities have put efficient measures in effect and they are implemented well. I believe the measures will do well in the long term,” stated the Prime Minister.
